How to put sleeves on a sleeveless dress. Fold your fabric in half and place your sleeveless shirt on top of the fabric at a slight angle. Sew the sleeve seam together. You can do this by subtracting the armscye measurement from the top of the sleeve measurement and taking in the sleeve by that much at the underarm seam.

The winner will be announced next week. Turn your dress inside out and slip the sleeve into the arm hole right side out matching up the seams at the armpit. Press the hem to get a nice crisp edge.

With the sleeve tucked inside the dress and pinned into place sew around the arm hole. This sleeve is stitched on top of the sleeves and the sides will hang down like an angel wing sleeve. And for more refashion inspiration click here.

Finish the sleeve cap edges of the sleeve with a zig zag stitch and hem the bottom edge. Make sure to roll the lining inside so that it doesn t show at the hem. It is best made with a stretchable fabric.

Trace your new sleeve along the armhole the purple dots. If the measurement of the top of the sleeve is larger than the armscye measurement you ll need to take in the sleeve. When you re about to reach the end of the armhole move back the armpit corner a bit and keep tracing.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 for the second sleeve. Sew the sleeve together at the hem and understitch the seam allowance towards the lining.
